TEMPORARY EMPLOYMENT - SUMMER 2017
The Municipality of the Township of Potton is seeking candidates to fill the following positions:
Attendant for the measuring of septic installations
The work consists of measuring the contents of septic tanks within the Township, making a visual
inspection of each installation and completing a report.
The candidates sought are responsible, physically fit, enjoy working outdoors and are bilingual. Knowledge
of septic systems and applicable regulations is an asset. Candidates must have a valid driver's license and have use of a vehicle.
Salary : according to the salary scale of the Municipality Starts : June 5th, 2017 Monday to Friday
Duration : 7 or 8 weeks, 35 h/week
TOURIST OFFICE (1 position)
The position of Attendant consists of welcoming visitors, updating tourist information, collaborating in the preparation
of promotional documents, maintaining a register and various statistics on visitors, preparing orders and keeping an inventory of information guides.
The candidate sought is bilingual, responsible, self-sufficient and enjoys working with the public.
A collegial or higher level of education must be completed.
Salary: according to the salary scale of the Municipality Starts : May-October 2017 Schedule: 2 days a week / 16 hours
***Schedule varies depending on the season (Must be available to work weekends on a rotation basis)
LIFEGUARD FOR THE MUNICIPAL BEACH (1 position)
Lifeguard (1 position)
Requirements: Must be at least 17 years old and have the required certification dated within 2 years.
Required certification (Lifeguard):
- Certificate of professional lifeguard, waterfront option issued by the National Lifeguard Service OR
- Professional Lifeguard certificate, issued by the Academy of Rescue Inc. of Quebec. OR
- National Lifeguard Certificate issued by the National Lifeguard Service Inc. OR
- Certificate of Water Safety Instructor and Rescue, issued not the Canadian Society of Red Cross and the Royal Lifesaving Society of Canada.
Salary: according to the salary scale of the Municipality Start: June 21st - August 14th, 2017 Duration: 8 weeks, 40 h / week Location: Municipal beach
59, George R. Jewett, Vale Perkins Schedule: Sunday to Tuesday & Thursday to Saturday
PUBLIC SPACES (2 positions)
Municipal wharf attendant (1 position)
The position of wharf attendant consists of managing the parking facilities, the boat ramp and the pressure washer at the
Vale Perkins municipal wharf.
More specifically, the attendants are required to:
Welcome users, collect the required fees, apply the regulations, issue user certificates and washing certificates, hand-out
authorized stickers, control the parking area and users of the boat ramp, ensure proper washing of boats, maintain neatness
and discipline on the premises and assist with the closing procedures at the end of the season.
Salary: according to the salary scale of the Municipality Start : to be determined
Attendant for the maintenance of parks and public spaces (1 position)
The position of the Attendant in charge of the maintenance of parks consists in maintaining and caring for
the parks and public spaces of the Municipality.
More specifically, the Attendants hired for the maintenance of parks and public spaces are in charge of:
Mowing the lawns with the tractor and trimming with the weed-eater, raking and collecting the mown grass and carrying out
all tasks relating to the manual and mechanical corrections of the lawns by adding earth, seeding, and all other related tasks
pertaining to the maintenance of parks, public spaces and municipal buildings.
