Day Camps

Outdoor adventures

Program planners for the Municipal Day Camp are proud to announce its sixth year featuring our OUTDOOR ADVENTURES theme. This summer, campers will learn new outdoor skills including orienteering, shelter building, wilderness cooking, and paddle sports. Campers will discover Potton`s trails, rivers and mountains on Adventure Thursdays!

Did you know that in 2014, the Municipality’s Outdoor Adventure Camp was 1 of 4 camps in rural Quebec asked to present their innovative program at the annual leisure conference? Thanks to the support of the municipal council and parents, we are pleased to be able to continue to offer this unique program.

They will be sure to bring back your old favorites including the gardening program, pumptrack workshops, arts and crafts and beach days.

The Potton Day Camp prides itself on providing a bilingual program for children ages 5-12. Our goal is to offer a variety of enriching, safe activities for all ability levels in an effort to build self-confidence and develop friendships through teamwork, all the while having fun! Our program incorporates a healthy lifestyle message, educating our campers on the benefits of eating well and getting outside and being active.  Our groups are separated according to age; our ratio averages 1:15 per animator/camper. For ages 5-7, our ratio averages 1:10.

Our animators

Beyond camp programming the most essential part of any successful Day Camp are the Animators. We understand that you as parents must feel comfortable with their ability to care and supervise your child. Through a rigorous interview process we select only the most responsible, creative and dynamic animators. As part of their employment with us, every staff member follows an intensive 4-day animators training delivered by ADVENTURE specialist, custom-crafted with Potton`s outdoor theme. This focus during this training is teamwork, supervision/emergency procedures, behaviour modification techniques, leadership skills and of course PLANNING!ALL Camp Staff are certified in First Aid. In addition to our full-time staff, you can expect an average of 2 special guests to join us at the day camp each week.
