Update: Restoration project of the Mansonville Round Barn

Some welcome news for our Round Barn! Our federal MP Denis Paradis has just confirmed an additional grant of $176,500 from Canadian Heritage. The agreement signing process is underway.  With this grant, the Federal Government will have provided $386,500 for the restoration project.  As you can see, the barn is now sitting on a new foundation and has been straightened.  Many of our local entrepreneurs have already benefited from these contracts!

Nevertheless, as with any subsidy, we must match the government’s contribution, dollar for dollar. Fund raising campaigns undertaken since 2013 have raised $255,000 to date, including $40,000 received from Memphremagog MRC and $30,000 from the Municipality of the Township of Potton.  Therefore, a grand total of $641,500 has been raised so far by the Barn Committee.  Other major funding sources will be approached shortly.
