JANITOR

The Municipality of the Township of Potton is currently seeking interested candidates to fill the position of janitor during the annual vacation of the current employee. Approximately five (5) weeks per year.

DESCRIPTION OF THE POSITION
The selected candidate will be responsible for doing various manual work related to cleaning municipal buildings, to ensure the cleanliness of the premises according to the rules established by the Municipality.

RESPONSIBILITIES
 Clean and dust the offices, meeting rooms and various other spaces including all furniture and accessories in the municipal buildings;
 Clean and disinfect all the washrooms, toilets and sinks;
 Empty and clean all waste baskets;
 Vacuum carpets, sweep and mop floors;
 Clean stairs and railings;
 Ensure that all dispensers in every employee and public washroom have sufficient toilet paper, hand paper and soap;
 Any other task related to the duties of a janitor;

REQUIREMENTS
 Must be in good physical condition;
 Must have a good sense of organization;
 Must be responsible and self-sufficient;
 Must be versatile, flexible, motivated and meticulous;
 Must have the necessary training or general work experience in janitorial tasks.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
This is a part-time position and work will be guaranteed for an average of 30 hours a week for approximately 5 weeks throughout the year. The work schedule is flexible but must not be during regular opening hours. Salary will be based on the candidate’s experience and the municipality’s remuneration policy.
