Launching of the 2019 tourist season
On Monday, June 17th, the Tourist Office launched the 2019 tourist season in its new location in the building of the former CIBC bank at 291 Rue Principale.
Thirty local citizens and owners of local businesses attended. The Mayor of Potton, Jacques Marcoux took the opportunity to highlight the significant economic contribution of tourism in the region. The ‘Circuit de l’Abbaye’, for example, almost half of which goes through the township of Potton, attracts more and more walkers each year, which generates a significant increase in overnight stays in accommodation.
The Mayor also spoke of the advantage for a village such as Mansonville to hold a “Cœur Villageois” accreditation, an accreditation awarded by Tourisme-Cantons-de-l’Est to villages that stand out for the quality of their welcome to visitors and through their efforts to create unifying projects to improve the quality of life of citizens. Thanks to this, Mansonville enjoys greater visibility in the region.
