Notice to citizens : Hydro-Québec maintenance work in May

Hydro-Quebec wishes to inform you that they are planning to carry out vegetation control and maintenance work on the Hydro-Quebec transmission easement on the territory of the municipality.

This work will be carried out by a qualified company for the vegetation control work and by Hydro-Quebec installers for the maintenance work. The work will take place between May 16 and May 31, 2022. The objective of this work is to remove vegetation that is incompatible with the power system and that could affect the safety of the population, workers and the reliability of the transmission system.

Outside of the landscaped areas, please note that logging debris will be left on the ground, but always outside of waterways and roads. Woody debris left in the rights-of-way promotes biodiversity and provides resting and cover areas for several species of animals, and favours certain bird species. If trees need to be cut down in the easement, they will be cut into lengths of approximately 4 feet (1.2m) and stacked.

Hydro-Québec will notify the owners concerned.
