The Municipality would also like to remind citizens that the book lending box has been installed in Place Manson in front of the Town Hall. Come by anytime and take a book of your choice and leave one for others to enjoy!
Happy reading!

Here’s how it works:

  • Book Reservation
Consult the library catalogue by visiting https://potton.mlasolutions.com and make a book reservation.
If you are not familiar with the procedure to make a reservation or if you do not know your client number, please contact the librarian at 450 292-3313, ext. 232. You can also reserve your books by calling the library directly.
  • Picking Up Books
Once you have received email confirmation that your order is ready, pick up’s can be made at any time during opening hours. We ask that you advise us of your presence when you are at front of the door of the Town Hall by calling 450 292-3948. The librarian will then meet you at the door with your books.

General Information
The library is located on the second floor of the town hall and has over 10,000 books; including extensive reference and local history sections which are both in French and in English. The library also features a generous collection of DVDs, Videos, CDs, audio books and magazines which are available to the public. You will also find a children’s corner with an abundant selection of both French and English children’s books. The library has the latest new arrivals and there is also a request book available if you are looking for a book that is not on our shelves.

Damaged / lost documents (books, CDs, DVDs, magazines, etc.)

When a document is returned to the Potton municipal library, its physical condition is checked.

A repair fee will be charged for the replacement of lost or damaged items, for minor repairs to the binding, for example.

When a document is deemed too damaged (stains, soiling, tears, mildew, pencil marks, water or other liquid marks, animal damage, bad odor, etc.), an invoice is issued indicating the amount of the penalty and the administration fee charged.

If the loan term reaches three months, a notice will be sent to you. You will then have seven days to return the document, failing which it will be considered lost. The replacement cost, an administration fee and a late fee of $30 (or more, depending on the cost of the document) will automatically be added to your file. An invoice will be sent to you by e-mail.

Operating Hours

The municipal library is open Tuesday to Friday, from 9am to 12:30pm and from 1:15pm to 4pm, and Saturday from 10am to 12pm.

The library has three computers and they all have high-speed internet access, word software and are available for printing if necessary. Throughout the library, there is also a wireless network connection (password required) available if customers wish to use their wireless devices.
