Spirit of Potton Festival

The Spirit of Potton Festival is BACK – August 12th & 13th, 2022

The organizing committee is gearing up and has a goal to offer the best festival yet, one that will offer festivalgoers, young and old alike the chance to finally celebrate and showcase our POTTON PRIDE.

BIG NEWS!  For the first time ever, this event will be hosted at the Missisquoi-North River Park.

SHUTTLE AND PARKING INFO – SPIRIT OF POTTON

Great news! The municipality will offer a free shuttle bus for the duration of the Spirit of Potton festival. The bus will make continuous trips to three parking lots available to you during the event: the one at the former 243 resto-bar located at 377 Mansonville Road; the one at André-Gagnon Park and the one at St-Cajetan Church located at 324 Mansonville Road. From 5:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. on Friday, August 12 and from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 13. Enjoy the festival!

*Spirit of Potton wishes to be a zero-waste event. The foodtrucks will have compostable utensils and dishes. We also welcome people who wish to bring their own dishes to the event.

Friday August 12th
5pm-7:30pm: Mechoui fundraising dinner for the Potton Firefighters and First Responders Association (30$ tickets available at Shell and Dépanneur des 13)
7-9pm: Bingo with the CABMN – $250 grand prize, many cash prizes, gift certificates and other various prizes
9-11pm: DJ Dave Suarez

Saturday August 13th
9 a.m. to 5 p.m.: Artisans, organizations and farmer’s market (under the multifunctional shelter)
8:30-11am: Pancake breakfast to benefit the CAMBN Partage-Share committee
9 a.m. – 5 p.m.: Petanque tournament (information Christine Baudinet: cbaudinetpotton@gmail.com – 514-731-3554)
10am-7pm: Entertainment corner with a climbing wall, bouncy castles and a trampoline!
12-4pm: Reptile booth
1pm-4pm: BMX demos by Wolf Bike Park on the new PUMPTRACK!

12-1pm: Homebrew Dixieland Band
1:30-2:15 p.m.: Les Deux de pique (comedy and circus all in one!) ***show performed at their trailer, not under the shelter
2:30-3:30pm: Knockin’ Boots – line dancing
3:30-4:30: Adam Karch
5-6pm: Les Deux de piques (comedy and circus all in one!) ***show presented at their trailer and not under the shelter
6:30-7:30 pm: The Royal Pickles
8:30-9:30 pm: 5 Pistols
9pm-9:30pm: Fireworks
10-11pm: 5 Pistols

Q & A for artisans and exhibitors

Who attends the festival?
Participants are people of all ages. Family-friendly event. In the 2-day period, the festival welcomes an estimated 1000 people (weather depending).

Who manages the festivals’ publicity?
The town’s communications agent will manage the publicity for the festival via the website, and two Facebook Pages.  A flyer will be produced that will simply outline the artisan market. The town will not advertise for individual artists. One flyer will circulate via social media starting mid-July announcing a list of artists that will be selling at the festival. We encourage all artists to assist with promotions and circulate the festival publicity.

What is the address?
364 route de Mansonville

What is the table rental fee?
$40 residents
$70 non-residents
Free for local, non-profit groups (Potton-based or who serve the Potton area)

If I rent two tables, will I receive a discount?
No.

Is there electricity on site?
Yes. This must be requested on the registration form.

Is there wifi on site?
Yes

What time can I set up my table(s) on Saturday August 13th?
Set up starts at 7:30 a.m. NOT before.

What about unloading and loading my materials?
You will be able to drive close to the shelter to unload your materials. Parking located close by.

Would it be possible to hang some of my work on display?
You will be provided a table(s) and chair(s) with your rental.  All displays will need to be provided by the renter.

What are the times I am obligated to be on site?
All artist booths must be ready for 9:00 a.m. Artists are required to remain on site until 5:00 p.m.
Answer : From 9:00-5:00 without exceptions.

Will I be able to choose my location?
The coordinator will be designing a floor plan before the event.  Considering this new location, all spots will be well-circulated by visitors.
Answer: no

Are there washrooms close by?
Yes. A service building is located footsteps away from the multifunctional shelter.

Sundays in The Park

Every Sunday from mid-June to mid August, come and enjoy free live music performed in the heart of the village of Mansonville in Place Manson, located in front of the Town Hall (2 Vale Perkins rd.) Bring a chair, pack a picnic and enjoy jazz, folk, country, blue grass, Celtic, rhythm and blues and more… A great time for all!

Cultural Days

For several years now, the Potton Cultural and Heritage Committee has been inviting people to participate in the Journées de la culture held last weekend in September. Many activities are on offer: exhibitions, concerts, outdoor activities, a movie for all, the Culture and Heritage Awards, etc.
