Replace the batteries of your smoke and carbon monoxide alarms

Changing the batteries in your smoke and carbon monoxide alarms can save lives.

The Fire and civil security service of the Township of Potton would like to remind the citizens of the importance of replacing the batteries of your smoke and carbon monoxide alarms right now. The functional smoke alarm is the only way to ensure that you are alerted quickly in the event of a fire.

– Make sure you have one smoke alarm per floor (basement too);
– Smoke alarms over 10 years old should be replaced;
– Replace the battery now even if everything seems to be working fine;
– Press the test button to ensure that the alarm is working properly.

For any questions related to fire prevention, do not hesitate to contact the preventionist serviceincendie@potton.ca or 450-292-3313 ext. 240.

If you witness or are the victim of an emergency that threatens your safety, that of others, your property or the environment, you must dial 9-1-1.
