Vale Perkins Whark closed during work

The Vale Perkins Municipal Wharf will be closed for five weeks from May 29 to June 30, 2023, due to major work. First, the access road to the wharf will be rebuilt, which is the last 70 metres of George- R.-Jewett Road, followed by dredging in Lake Memphremagog at the end of the wharf. The two works will be carried out one after the other since they have been entrusted to the same contractor.

Although this work will cause the closure of the wharf for several weeks, the Municipality had to move forward at the beginning of the season so that citizens could fully enjoy it for the rest of the summer.

Traffic will be affected by this closure due to the important work. We therefore encourage Pottonians to avoid the area near the wharf during this period. The municipal beach will also be closed during this period.

An information session on this subject will be held on May 23 at 7:00 p.m. on the second floor at Town Hall. Project stakeholders, engineers and contractors will be present. No reservation required.
